‘Got-It’ For Android Is A Great Google Keep Competitor With Google Tasks Integration And Widget Support

Ben Reid·April 13, 2013
With Google commanding such a huge presence in the productivity field nowadays, every new app the company drops is treated as the next big thing. This trend continued with the announcement of the Google Keep app, which integrated a simple, effective note-taking facility into the Google Apps infrastructure, and as well as popping up on Drive, the customary Android app was also released to the Play Store. The market for apps that let users quickly take down lists, thoughts and musings is extremely fierce though, and although Google Keep won't be struggling for competitors, another has just arrived in the form of a very nicely polished app called Got-It.

New iOS 7 Concept Brings Significantly More Animation To The Fold [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·April 13, 2013
I cannot recall seeing a wider variety of concept ideas for a piece of software than I have recently for iOS 7, and with the tech community anticipating some big changes thanks to the increased influence of one Jony Ive, it's hardly surprising to see designers tripping over themselves to bring forth their ideas and coming up with all sorts of iOS 7 concepts. One in particular from YouTuber iamthe6ixth offers a somewhat alternative take on the vast majority of those we've looked at hitherto, and instead of playing on the idea of a dramatically altered user interface, this concept presents changes pertaining to the functionality and behavior of iOS.

Evasi0n iOS 6 Jailbreak Presented At HITB By Evad3rs, Slides Now Viewable Online

Ben Reid·April 13, 2013
Yesterday saw the conclusion of the Hack In The Box conference over in Amsterdam, an annual event where some of the most talented hackers and security experts gather to share insights, knowledge, and discoveries. The event saw some very interesting talks, particularly one in which pilot-turned-security-guru Hugo Teso showed how he could commandeer a Boeing jet remotely using an Android smartphone, but one which will certainly pique the interests of some Redmond Pie readers was that of the Evad3rs jailbreak team.

Twitter Music Crawls Out Of Obscurity, Not Available For Everyone, Yet

Ben Reid·April 13, 2013
The blogosphere has been abuzz these past few hours in anticipation for Twitter Music, which was due to launch today, April 12th. We all, quite wrongly, presumed we'd be able to give Twitter's new audio streaming service a tryout for the very first time today, but while the site has gone live and looks ready to go, we'll have to sit through another week of drumroll before it officially opens its doors.

Record ‘n’ Torch Lets You Toggle iPhone Camera Flash On Or Off While Recording Video

Paul Morris·April 13, 2013
As much as we love the iPhone, and iOS in general for that matter, we are perfectly able to concede that it has some pretty basic flaws that wouldn't take Apple long to resolve if they saw fit. There are certain aspects of interacting with native apps that often leave us feel infuriated, with the Camera app and the way Apple has chosen to handle the LED flash being a prime example of this frustration.

TapTapPass For iPhone Lets You Quickly Enable Or Disable Passcode Lock From Anywhere Using Gestures

Paul Morris·April 12, 2013
Passcode lock feature on iOS, which is found in Settings.app, is definitely one of the most used preferences for the security conscious, but in certain situations it can become cumbersome and a bit of a bore to activate or deactivate. TapTapPass for iPhone essentially allows users to assign a different action to toggle the passcode feature on and off from anywhere on the OS.

Facebook Home Chat Heads Feature Hits Messenger App On Android – Download Now!

Ben Reid·April 12, 2013
One of the most exciting features of Facebook Home, the social network's new Android launcher set to hit the Google Play Store later today, is the new 'Chat Heads' feature, which allows all SMS and Facebook messages to manifest themselves from within a single interface. The main idea behind it, of course, is to lessen the need for you to keep flitting between Facebook Messenger and your native SMS app, and although Home is itself limited currently in how many devices it will cater to, Chat Heads has just arrived to the standalone Facebook Messenger app by means of an update. Details next.

This Gaming Controller For The iPad mini, Nexus 7 Looks Stunning [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·April 12, 2013
The iPad mini is, by and large, deemed to be a consumption device, and although it surely has some productive qualities, it's definitely seen as more of an entertainment package than its larger sibling. With this in mind, a group of creative individuals have started a Techdy campaign to gather support for their rather beautiful gaming controller for the fledgling slate, and as well as doubling up as a smart cover when not in use, it also looks robust enough to keep your iPad mini securely in place when it is.

Grand Theft Auto Radio Stations Now Officially Available As iTunes And Spotify Playlists

Paul Morris·April 12, 2013
Rockstar Games and their Grand Theft Auto franchise have always managed to split public opinion right down the middle. The game, originally created by David Jones and Mike Daily, has managed to court with controversy ever since the original 2D release back in 1997. With the latest installation of GTA set to hit our shelves later on this year, Rockstar could be forgiven for sitting back and getting their heads down to finalize and polish the game, but instead they have taken the time to release part of the franchise's greatest appeal - the music.
