The iPhone Dev-Team has finally shown off a video demo of iOS 4.1 jailbreak on the newly released iPod touch 4G by loading SHAtter exploit in PwnageTool (video after the break). This test version of PwnageTool however is currently for internal testing only. But it will be released later for iPhone 4 users so that they can preserve their old baseband in future for carrier unlock by restoring to the custom firmware file.

Those of you who thought that 4th-gen iPod touch is just the iPhone 4 without the ‘phone’ are in for a yet another disappointment. iFixit Teardown of iPod touch 4G has revealed that it only has 256MB of RAM like iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 3G, unlike the iPhone 4 which features 512MB of RAM. Teardown also reveals that the battery of the new iPod touch also pales in comparison to iPhone 4. iPod touch features 3.44 W/Hour battery while the iPhone 4 has 5.25 W/Hour.

iPod touch 4G was announced only a few days back at Apple’s annual “Special Media Event” in San Francisco. Even though the new “touch” has got two cameras: one on the back for HD video recording and one on the front for FaceTime calls, 960 x 640 Retina Display and all, but the fact that the camera on the back can only take still shots at 0.7 megapixels was met with disappointment by many.

We have already seen many different pictures of iPod touch 4 surfaced in the last month or so, and rumors are floating around that the new iPod touch will get a front-facing camera for FaceTime video calls, a rear camera for HD video recording, along with a Retina Display. But what we’re all really interested in knowing is what will the new iPod touch look like, as in the design.
