Sprint has launched a new advertising campaign which pokes fun at AT&T iPhone users who are limited to slow-3G speeds on the so called “the nation’s fastest 3G network”. The ad in question shows off the new Overdrive 4G Mobile hotspot which can be used with the iPhone and the upcoming iPad with 4G broadband speed where the speed averages about 3 to 4 Mbps.
Developer of GreenPois0n - p0sixninja has just posted a long detailed post, clearing out the confusions that many of you may be having regarding GreenPois0n, Chronic Dev Team and their authenticity. According to him, they have have found an exploit in the latest iPhone 3.1.3 firmware which will be able to unlock and jailbreak iPhone 3GS (new bootrom), and iPod touch 3G untethered. All they are now waiting is for the iPad with iPhone 3.2 to hit shelves on April 3rd.
Apple has just released yet another update to iPhone 3.2 SDK for iPad. This Beta 5 of iPhone OS 3.2 SDK for iPad has been released only a week after Beta 4 was released. This release will most probably be the last Beta release as the devices are scheduled to ship with the final version on April 3.
Apple started receiving pre-orders for the newly announced iPad on March 12, with the promise to start shipping iPad and its accessories by April 3. However, in the past few days, Apple has amended some of the shipping schedules of their branded iPad accessories. The revised schedule of some of these accessories can be seen in the screenshot below.
It seems as if Apple has tremendous faith in the battery that is in the iPad. Loop Insight is reporting that Apple's website says, if your iPad battery dies, you need to just pay $99, and Apple will replace the entire iPad.
Business Insider is reporting that approximately 91,000 iPads were sold in the first 6 hours of the presale. With the presale lasting 8 hours, they must have hit 100,000 pre-orders today. These numbers are just estimates, but still impressive.
Apple Store in the US has just been updated to include the new iPad, both the Wi-Fi only version, and Wi-Fi + 3G version for pre-order starting from today. The Wi-Fi only model comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions and are available for $499, $599 and $699 respectively. It will ship on 3rd April for free. The Wi-Fi + 3G version of iPad also comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions and can be bought for $629, $729 and $829 respectively. The Wi-Fi + 3G version however wont ship before late April 2010.
9to5Mac is reporting that a couple of new gestures have been uncovered in the the iPhone SDK 3.2 Beta 4. There seems to be a triple tap gesture and a long press gesture revealed. In the gestures folder, a couple of new plist files have been discovered: "3Tap.plist" and "LongPress.plist".
Apple has just rolled out another update to iPhone OS 3.2 SDK for iPad. This Beta 4 of iPhone OS 3.2 SDK for iPad brings new API improvements and bug fixes to make sure it is all set before Apple officially releases the final firmware in shipping device come this April.
