Download: iOS 27.2 Final IPSW Links, OTA Update Released

Apple has today released for download the iOS 27.2 final version to the public, giving them their first look at an update that has been in the hands of developers and public beta testers for the last few weeks.

The new update arrived after Apple released the first Release Candidate version on October 19, and brings with it a number of changes, albeit none that will make the update worthwhile on their own.

The update is available for free and can be installed via the Software Update mechanism within the Settings app. While the early iOS 27.2 betas included a new Health app, that was removed in the later betas and is not present in this final release. However, Siri AI does expand to include French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish languages.

The Apple TV app now supports profiles for the first time, while a new Apple Music icon has been added as part of the streaming services visual revamp. Call Context also now supports anniversary alerts, too.

According to official release notes, here’s everything that is new:

Siri Al (All iPhone 16 models and later, iPhone 15
Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max)
• Siri Al can recall your past conversations, so you can ask Siri about something it told you before, like the restaurants it recommended last week
• Siri Al can draw from more sources to give you a great answer, including photos attached in Messages, Calendar event attendees, your voicemails, and better results from Safari history and Reading List
• Excluded Apps lets you choose which apps Siri, Search, and suggestions can access, all from one setting
• Granular text selection lets you select and copy just the part of a Siri response you need
• Siri Al is available in more languages, with support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. Siri Al is not available in the EU or mainland China

Other
• Suggestions in Messages help you take action based on the context of your conversations, like adding a Calendar invite for a dinner
• Shared Albums in Photos adds the ability to edit captions and comments, to avoid adding duplicate photos, and can display a reminder before albums expire so participants can save important photos and videos

• Support for SynthID watermarking to help identify whether an image was generated or modified with generative tools in Photos and Image Playground
• The Home tab in the Podcasts app offers two separate sections for New Episodes and Continue Playing, letting you find the latest updates from your shows and then pick up where you left off
• Friends tab in the Games app provides context on friend suggestions and shows recent games played on friends’ player pages
• Simple Profiles in the Apple TV app lets everyone in your household have their own profile, with recommendations that fit what they like to watch
• FaceTime supports adding a third party sign language interpreter or live captioner to a call

This software update is the first to be released since Apple made the iPhone Duo available for purchase and sees the company skip iOS 27.1 for all iPhones except its foldable model.

Apple has also released new updates for the Mac, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro to match this new iOS 27.2 release.
