Apple’s iPhone 12 Will Reportedly Bring MagSafe Back To Apple’s Lineup With Two New Wireless Chargers

In a raft of leaks posted to Chinese social network Weibo, leaker Kang has outed the news that Apple will revive the MagSafe product name when it launches two new wireless chargers alongside the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro next week.

Previously accurate with their information, Kang says that the two wireless chargers will be called MagSafe Charger and MagSafe Duo Charger.

It isn’t clear exactly what the two chargers will offer, but there has been talk of a faster 15W charging capacity. That would also suggest that the new iPhones will also make use of the same charging capabilities.

Here’s what Google Translate makes of the Weibo post.

The official key accessories are: Magsafe Official Case with Magsafe, Two Wireless Chargers Magsafe Charger, Magsafe Duo Charger, you can see the literal meaning.

We’ve seen previous leaks that pointed to magnets being placed inside the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. It now appears that those will align with the new MagSafe chargers, preventing them from moving around and away from the optimal charging position.

All of this looks set to be announced during a special event that will take place next Tuesday, October 13. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like one of those announcements will include Apple silicon Macs or the rumored AirPods Studio – both are now expected to get their first outing next month instead.
