Apple Announces Brand-New Siri AI, Apple Intelligence Upgrades, And More

Apple has announced Siri AI, a revamped version of Siri, as well as other Apple Intelligence upgrades, as part of its WWDC 2026 opening keynote. The new features will come to iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro, and Apple TV.

Siri AI is the biggest addition, with a dedicated Siri app changing the way users interact with the digital assistant.

The feature will use the personal context collected from messages, emails, photos, and more, to then interact with systemwide app actions. Siri AI will also be able to answer questions based on what is on-screen at any given moment.

Users will be able to swipe down from the top of their iPhone screen to use Siri in a chatbot-like interface for the first time, while Apple Intelligence will expand on existing features.

One example will be a new Spatial Reframing feature, allowing users to edit an existing photo to change its frame. The feature will use on-device image generation technology to fill in any spaces the reframing creates, and can be used on photos taken with other cameras. The Image Playground app is also getting an upgrade, too.

Apple also refreshed its Screen Time feature to give parents mode control over how their kids use iPhones and other devices. They’ll be able to set daily allowances for different categories of apps, while also managing schedules to ensure specific apps aren’t used while at school, for example.

A raft of smaller features are also coming to Apple’s platforms. New capabilities are coming to the iCloud Shared Albums feature, while the Health app will support perimenopause and menopause in Cycle Tracking.

AirPods owners will gain support for a custom EQ for the first time, while Apple Vision Pro users will be able to turn panoramas into spatial scenes using visionOS 27.

Apple says that its 2026 round of software updates will be made available to the public this fall, while initial beta versions are already available for developers.
