New Packaging Stickers Appear To Confirm ‘iPhone 13’ Branding

Amid rumors that Apple might be considering naming its next iPhone something other than iPhone 13, newly leaked images of what are supposed to be packaging labels might have confirmed that isn’t the case at all.

The labels, which look like they are what would appear on iPhone 13 boxes, clearly says the name we have been using all year.

What makes that so interesting is the use of the number 13 — something some people had suggested might not happen because it’s considered an unlucky number by some. Others suffer from a phobia relating to the number, too.

Now, leaker DuanRui has shared images that were originally posted to Weibo — and those images show iPhone 13, clear as day.

While we’ve all been using iPhone 13 as the placeholder name for a year now, it has never been clear exactly what Apple would go for. Some had suggested we might see an iPhone 12s due to the limited improvements this year’s model will offer, although that would presumably leave Apple with iPhone 13 to deal with next year, too.

Whatever the name, Apple is set to announce the new iPhones at some point in September. New rumors have the announcement taking place on September 14 with pre-orders kicking off on September 17. That would mean the iPhones would go on sale on September 24.
