The demise of Google Reader brought with it a fair amount of unhappy mojo within the technology industry. A number of extremely popular and favored RSS readers and apps were forced to withdraw their support for the service, which in some cases left the software in a position where it either needed to reinvent itself or simply fall into the RSS abyss. Silvio Rizzi's Reeder app was always considered to be one of the best feed readers around, meaning that there was no way the developer would let his creation wither and die. The next-generation of the Reeder app is now available on the App Store and it's better than ever in its post Google Reader state.
At this point we've all watched the Apple iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c announcement event from yesterday, but some of it is just worth watching again. High on that list would have to be the Infinity Blade III trailer that we saw Epic Games’ Donald Mustard and his brother playing through on-stage. There had been one or two rumors floating about that Apple's iWork Suite, along with iLife, would be going free. Leaks of app information pages seemed to corroborate this notion, and today, Apple has announced that iWork, iPhoto and iMovie will be free of charge.

We're headed towards that time of year again when Activision releases its next installment of Call of Duty. This year's offering - Call of Duty: Ghosts - is not due for a while yet, but to whet the appetites of the many Call of Duty fans, a new mobile title has just made its way to the iOS App Store. Call of Duty: Strike Team is set in the year 2020, and with more of that first-person action fans love now refined for mobile space, it's not one to be missed.
