Apple Confirms October 13 ‘Welcome Home’ Special Event

After weeks of rumors, Apple has today officially confirmed that it will stream a special event on October 13, 2026.

The event has the tagline “Welcome home,” appearing to confirm that the event will focus on new smart home devices and accessories.

Apple has long been rumored to have plans to release new smart home devices next week. Following Apple’s announcement, SVP of Worldwide Marketing Greg Joswiak shared a post on the X social network, including a video of an embroidered Apple logo.

If the rumors turn out to be accurate, we can expect that Apple will unveil three devices during its now-confirmed event. The first Apple TV 4K update in years is set to bring Siri AI to the big screen for the first time. It’s also been suggested that it will allow four HomePods to be used as a surround sound setup.

Apple is also expected to unveil refreshed HomePod mini hardware, with new colors and a processing power upgrade. The latter will also bring Siri AI to the HomePod, replacing the current standard Siri that people have been using for years.

Finally, Apple is also expected to announce an entirely new device. Set to be some kind of smart home hub, it’s thought the device will come in two versions: one a tabletop design, the other built to be mounted on a wall.
