Apple Updates iCloud App For Windows With New Password Manager App

Apple had released an update for its iCloud for Windows app, adding support for a new password manager built in. The update is available for download from the Microsoft Store now and is free.

The iCloud for Windows app gives PC users a way to continue to use iCloud services like iCloud Photos, iCloud Drive, and more.

The addition of iCloud Passwords is a new one, giving users a way to sync their passwords across their Apple devices and still have access to them on PCs.

iCloud Passwords

• View and manage your passwords on your Windows PC in the iCloud Passwords app.

• Save and sync your passwords across your devices and PC in Chrome or Edge using the iCloud Passwords extension.

Apple’s iCloud Passwords feature is one that continues to grow and the ability to sync passwords with Chrome and Edge on Windows PCs does give it a new dimension. With third-party password managers tending to be the only way people could get passwords from one type of device to another.

iCloud’s improved solution is becoming a viable option for many. However, the lack of any shared vault feature is still a problem for anyone looking to make the move from competing products from the likes of 1Password and Dashlane.
