Here’s how to fix iOS 27 Stuck on Preparing Update problem that you may be facing as an iPhone or iPad user.
As you may already know by now, today is release day of final version of iOS 27. With everyone now downloading the update, the process can take some time depending on your device model and update size, as well as the speed of your connection.

Now if you are downloading the update, and after the download is complete your iPhone seems to get stuck on “Preparing Update” screen for unusually long time, here’s what you need to try to get around the problem.
Restart iPhone
First thing you need to try is to simply do a reboot of your iPhone by powering it off and powering it on again. Once done, head over to Settings > General > Software Update and try to download and install the update again.
Use Strong WiFi
Make sure you are getting strong WiFi signals when trying to download and install iOS 27. Unstable connection can cause OTA file corruption, resulting in all sorts of different errors.
Remove OTA Update & Try Again

Head over to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. Scroll down to find “iOS 27” in the list. Tap on it and then tap “Delete Update”. Once deleted, try to download and install iOS 27 OTA update again. This time it might go through without error.
Free Up Storage
Major iOS updates like iOS 27 requires substantial free space to download and install. If you dont have more than 10-15GB of free space on your device, make sure you delete unnecessary apps and files in order to free up some space and try the update again.
