Apple CEO Tim Cook Is Now The Eighth Highest-Paid Executive In the US

Apple CEO Tim Cook is now the eighth highest-paid executive in the United States according to a new report by Bloomberg.

This represents a fall down the rankings for Cook, despite him earning more than he did the previous year.

Cook was paid $265 million in 2020 with the number made up from stock awards and bonuses for the large part. The previous year saw Cook earn $133.7 million.

In terms of the people who found themselves earning more than Cook, the COO of Oak Street Health, the CEO of Palantir Technologies, the CEO of Opendoor Technologies, and the Co-CEOs of GoodRX Holdings were all joined by Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Musk apparently brought in a cool $6.658 billion, according to the report.

Cook was joined by two other Apple executives in the top 100, with Senior Vice President of Retail and People Deirdre O’Brien and Senior Vice President and General Counsel Kate Adams making the list in 93rd and 96th spot respectively.

Apple’s Cook might not be the biggest paid executive by some margin, but he’s currently leading a company that is on a roll — and recently reported stellar quarterly numbers on the back of strong iPhone sales. Apple shareholders might consider him a bit of a bargain considering the return on their investment.
