27-Inch iMac Pro With M1 Pro And Max Chips, ProMotion Display, 24-Inch iMac-Like Design, More, Rumored For Next Year

Now that Apple has released its 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros all eyes are on the iMac Pro. When will Apple’s high-end all-in-one get the new chips? According to a new report, that’ll all happen next year. And in the first half of that year, no less.

Leaker @dylandkt says that we will see a new 27-inch iMac Pro arrive next year, complete with mini-LED technology and the arrival of ProMotion display.

The same report says that the base model will feature 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, while Apple Me Pro and M1 Max chips are expected to be offered, too.

In terms of ports, we’re told to expect similar offerings to that of the new MacBook Pros, including HDMI, SD card slot, and more. Ethernet will also be offered as part of the iMac Pro’s power brick, too.

All of this means that we can expect a starting price of “at or over” $2,000, according to the report.

Face ID was also reportedly tested, says the tweet, although it isn’t yet clear whether it will be part of the machine when it ships. That seems unlikely given the fact the iMac Pro refresh will ship with a keyboard that has Touch ID built in.

Much of this makes plenty of sense, although we do suspect that 16GB of RAM is a little on the low side for most people buying this kind of machine.
