Dell Ad Mistakenly Shows A Notebook PC Running Windows 8 And OS X [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·February 4, 2014
Dell is one of the foremost manufacturers of desktop computers, notebooks, monitors, and other such peripherals based around computing. In recent years, it has tried with a notable amount of gusto to tap into the hybrid market, with some success. But in an ad for its latest laptop-plus-tablet, it makes the cardinal sin of showing both Windows 8 and OS X at the very same time. With a simple sideways gesture, the user seems to move from the Start Screen to a Mac app, and although there are ways of running both of these operating systems on one machine, Dell certainly didn't intend to market this fact to the world.

Humor: Apple Fanboys Losing It When Watching The Latest Keynote [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·January 31, 2014
When it comes to technology, plenty of folks out there - whether they'd like to admit it or not - are partisan fans of a particular company or product. Some of the most fiercely-contested rivalries in the modern digital era involve Apple, be it versus Microsoft at desktop level or against Android in the mobile arena, and as such, the Cupertino company has its fair share of fanboys. Today, an entertaining little clip has hit the Web courtesy of the guys over Vooza, and gives a rather humorous take on what happens to these Apple fanboys when the company they so worship is running one of its famed keynote events. Check out the video after the jump!

Humor: If Google Was Just A Regular Guy [VIDEO]

Oliver Haslam·January 15, 2014
So here's an interesting question, and one that hadn't really crossed our minds until just now. It's a valid question, if you dig deep enough, too. What if Google was a real person? And by real, we mean, a real person with skin and bones, not just a company, or a search engine.

This iPad Pro Concept Is Every Bit A Pro Tablet With A Gigantic 4K 13-inch Display, Touch ID [VIDEO]

Oliver Haslam·January 11, 2014
When Apple renamed the iPad, preferring to go with the iPad Air designation, everyone came to the logical conclusion that Apple must, presumably, be working on a new iPad that it would eventually call the iPad Pro. This assumption is obviously based on the fact that Apple's MacBook lineup has both an Air and a Pro model. After all, why change the name of the iPad at all if Apple wasn't planning on introducing something alongside it?

Watch: The Future According To Samsung [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·December 31, 2013
Samsung Display has released a video demonstrating a rather idealistic take on the future of tech, and sees its panels delving much deeper into consumer and enterprise markets than currently seen. The clip, which was a part of the company’s analyst day back in November and has since just leaked into the wild, once again outlines Samsung's admirable ambition, but despite this, could we really envision a world where almost everything on view - from floors to coffee cups - sports some description of integrated Samsung display? It should come as very little surprise that Samsung Display not only believes this to be possible, but sees this as a natural progression in years to come.

This Apple TV UI Inspired By iOS 7 Begs To Be Seen [Photos]

Ben Reid·December 21, 2013
Some analysts, as well as many general Apple fans, have been under the impression that the fruit company would, at some stage, come through with its own connected TV effort, unofficially referred to as 'iTV.' The name itself probably wouldn't hold; at least, not in the UK, where it is the name of one of the foremost broadcasting services, and by the lack of any tangible activity or evidence to suggest otherwise, it doesn't seem as though iTV is anywhere near the top of Apple's to-do list. The substantial improvements to the range of Apple TV content suggests that the little black box is doing just fine for now, and if Jony Ive and his design minions did feel like revamping the OS in the image of iOS 7, perhaps the concept below, dreamed up by designer Andrew Ambrosino, offers us something of a preview.

Watch 2,000 iPhone 5s Units Fall Like Dominos To Wish You Happy Holidays [VIDEO]

Oliver Haslam·December 20, 2013
We've seen iPhones of the computer generated variety be used for marketing before, and we've even seen CGI iPhones used to create an impressive domino effect in previous videos, but with Christmas just around the corner it was only a matter of time before the two were merged into one truly great video. And now it's happened.

Waking up on Christmas morning and unwrapping an Xbox One will usually be enough for most of us, but if being the same as everyone else just doesn't cut it for you, then maybe you could ask Kris Kringle for the 24-karat gold plated Xbox One that is currently available at Harrods in London.

This iPhone Concept Reminds Us That Skeuomorphism Isn’t All That Bad [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·December 4, 2013
An intriguing new concept for iPhone shows just how a rather endearing, whimsical and simplistic interface could help us to once again appreciate the look of 3D shapes and effects on our device's display. Designer Doug Hindson has, along with his colleagues, created a short demonstration video of his idea, and although the 'Skew' concept perhaps makes little practical sense given the current state of iOS 7, it does look rather nice. Catch the full clip, which we've embedded for your viewing pleasure, right after the break.

This Astonishing And Life Like Finger Painting Of Morgan Freeman Was Created Using iPad Air [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·December 3, 2013
The iPad continues to hold the number one spot in the tablet market almost four years after its inception, and although the market is now awash with devices offering 'proper' processors and ultrabook-esque form factors, it would seem that nothing can stop the Apple iPad. Many, especially Microsoft, have suggested that the limited nature of the ecosystem is to the detriment of the user, besetting iPad owners with restrictions to which they cannot get the most out of their slate. But whatever this may be, it doesn't appear to be affecting the work or skills of Kyle Lambert, who has created a true masterpiece of a finger painting using nothing more than his iPad Air.
