Not only can you now download YouTube videos on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, but you can now also import all your downloaded video in iPod app seamlessly! Back at the special iPhone 4 conference in July of this year, Steve Jobs announced free cases for every iPhone 4 purchased through September 30. This deadline of September 30th got many to speculate that Apple probably will come out with a new iPhone 4 in fall of this year with a proper hardware fix for the now infamous “antennagate” issue which has been plaguing many users since its launch in June.
The developers behind BiteSMS app have come up with a new app in Cydia called SwitcherPlus which enables you to switch between your multitaskable apps right from your iPhone or iPod touch’s lockscreen. This is the same native task switcher which comes with iOS 4.x for iPhone 4, 3GS and the 3rd-gen iPod touch. All what SwitcherPlus does is to enable the functionality in lockscreen so that you can use it without having to unlock your phone.
Earlier today, an Apple Store was robbed in San Diego, California by two guys dressed up in jeans and hoodies. They smashed into the store late at night and took away a dozen iPhones which were on display. Since there wasn’t anyone around at that time, no one was injured.
Apple has just sent out invites for the “Special Event” which is going to be held on September 1st 2010 at 10AM Pacific Time / 1PM Eastern Time in San Francisco. Expect Apple to announce new iPod touch 4 with FaceTime, iTunes in Cloud, the new Apple TV (dubbed iTV), iOS 4.1 for iPhones and iPod touches and iOS 4 for iPad. Facebook for iPhone App has Over 100 Million Users! That is as Much as All iOS Devices Sold by Apple
According to a recent post on Facebook blog, Facebook has over 150 million users actively accessing the worlds largest social networking site via mobile devices. Out of those 150 million active mobile users, “Facebook for iPhone” accounts for a staggering 100 million users per month. Now that is as much as the number of iOS based devices (iPhone, iPad and iPod touch) sold by Apple as per June of this year. What this means is that there is a “Facebook for iPhone” app installed on almost every iOS device ever sold!
Did you ever felt the need to close all the apps in one go which are running in background on any of your iDevice running iOS 4.x? While multitasking in iOS 4 and above is useful, it may slow down things a bit if too many apps are backgrounded, specially on iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G (Jailbroken with Multitasking enabled) which have half the RAM of iPhone 4. So instead of killing all the apps and processes manually in multitasking tray (aka Task Switcher) to free up the RAM, you can close them all in one tap with “Remove Background” toggle for SBSettings.
