Apple Confirms September 9 ‘Surprise and Shine’ Event With New iPhones Expected

Apple has today announced that it will hold a new event on September 9, with the company expected to announce new iPhones and Apple Watches.

The event, which carries the tagline “Surprise and Shine,” will be streamed at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, and online. Members of the media have been invited to attend, with the show getting started at 10:00 Pacific Time.

The September 2026 event has long been expected to see Apple announce new iPhones and Apple Watches. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to debut, with the first foldable iPhone also expected to be unveiled.

Thought to be called iPhone Ultra, the foldable phone will be Apple’s first entry into a new category for some time. The iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are then expected to debut during the spring of 2027.

All of Apple’s September 2026 iPhones are expected to be powered by Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, which is set to be built in TSMC’s 2nm manufacturing process. This should allow for improved performance, lower power consumption, and less heat generation. Price increases are also expected for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max when compared to their predecessors.

Apple is also expected to announce the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 at the event, while a new Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini are also possibly on the cards.
