Download: iOS 26.6.1 Final IPSW Links, OTA Update, And More Released

Apple has today released for download iOS 26.6.1 final IPSW links and OTA update for the iPhone, weeks ahead of the expected September release of iOS 27 to the public.

This new update is now available for download by all owners of compatible iPhones the world over. Just head to the Settings app, tap General, and then choose Software Update.

As the version number hints, this new update doesn’t bring any big new features to the mix but is instead aimed at dealing with some security issues that needed to be addressed. Apple’s iPhone update release notes also confirm that news.

This update provides security fixes for your iPhone.

At the time of writing, Apple had not yet updated that webpage to detail what new fixes this update includes, so it’s difficult to know how many or how important the fixes were.

What we do know is that iOS 26.6.1 was not released in isolation. Apple also released iPadOS 26.6.1, macOS 26.6.2, and visionOS 26.6.1 for the iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro, respectively.

While this update did not bring any big feature updates or additions, we do recommend installing it on your iPhone as soon as possible. Any security fix is worth installing, and this one is no different.
