Sony Finally Shows Off The PlayStation VR2’s Design

Sony might have officially announced that there would be a new version of the PSVR back in February 2021, but it’s taken until today for us to see what it will actually look like.

We’ve seen sneak peeks of the controllers of course, but now we’ve been treated to the whole thing. And it looks pretty cool.

The design itself looks very similar to the PS5 itself, meaning there’s plenty of back and white going on. While the headset is smaller than the original PSVR, it’s still similar in overall look.

However, there will be some improvements — those who have found that their PSVR makes them sweat should enjoy a new vent design, for example. The headset has been on a diet, getting lighter and overall less bulky in the process.

In terms of hardware, we know that the headset will offer 4K HDR and eye tracking while connection to the PS5 will require a single USB-C cable — a huge improvement over the previous version.

While today’s announcement does finally give us a look at what this thing is going to look like, we still don’t know two of the most important things that people have been asking — when will we be able to buy the PSVR2 and what will it cost when we do?

Hopefully Sony will share the answers to both questions sooner rather than later, if only to give us time to fill those piggy banks up before it’s time to place an order!
