Apple Releases iOS 15.4 Beta 4 And iPadOS 15.4 Beta 4

Apple has today seeded the fourth beta release of iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 to developers.

The update comes a week after the previous beta 3 release which might suggest that the company is getting closer to making the update available to everyone.

Developers can now download the update over-the-air if they have the correct developer profile installed. The update can also be downloaded via the Apple Developer Center website, too.

Those who are on the public beta program should be able to get their hands on the update tomorrow or the day after, assuming no showstopping bugs are found between now and then.

This iOS 15.4 update in particular is a big one. It will allow people to use Face ID while wearing a face mask, for example, while Tap to Pay on iPhone is also being tested as part of this beta. That feature will allow people to accept contactless payments on their iPhones without the need for any additional hardware or accessories.

As many as 37 new emojis are also coming as part of this release, while full 120Hz ProMotion support for third-party apps is also in the cards. We don’t yet know when Apple will make this update available to all, but fingers are crossed that it won’t be too far into the future.
