Reddit's popularity as a massively successful social network and information sharing platform is beyond question, and the service has only grown since the day it started. Even though Reddit isn't a social network as Facebook and Twitter are, users addicted to /r are in millions, and they continue to grow by the day. The one area where Reddit seems to have struggled was its presence across mobile platforms, especially through the lack of quality mobile apps for iOS, Android, Windows Phone etc. Recently, we saw the executive team behind Reddit focusing on that area, with improved official apps, more focus on mobile customers etc. Today's move is just that; one more step towards increasing Reddit's mobile user base, and the company has aimed to achieve that by acquiring the popular iOS app Alien Blue.
Here we are again, with just a few hours into the run-up to the October 16th Apple event. Apple has chosen to go with a slightly low key venue this time around, holding the event at the Apple Campus in Cupertino, California. Earlier there were onslaughts of iPad rumors and there were even concerns that Apple may not announce the much awaited tablets, in all this confusion. It's been a busy day today as far as Google is concerned, and alongside the all-new Nexus 6, the Mountain View outfit has drafted in the services of Taiwan-based HTC for its next major tablet. With the Motorola-made Nexus 6 set to be the first handset running on Android Lollipop right from the get-go, the Nexus 9 will follow suit for the larger occupants of the mobile world, and given that it's made by HTC - designer of some highly-regarded smartphones over the past couple of years as you may recall - we've been very intrigued to take the wraps off this particular slate. Now, Google has put paid to the rumors, offering glimpses of the tablet as well those all-important specs, and here, we dig through them all to see if it has justified the hoopla.
