New Macs Spotted In Regulatory Filings Are Likely The M1X 14-Inch And 16-Inch MacBook Pros

Two new Macs have appeared in the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) database and while their names aren’t mentioned, the two model numbers don’t currently correspond to any Apple devices.

With that in mind, we believe that A2442 and A2485 will be the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro machines.

If rumors are accurate, those two machines will ship with Apple-designed M1X processors inside. On the outside, rumors of the return of the SD card slot and HDMI connectors have given hope to creators around the world. Talk of some sort of MagSafe connector is also interesting to those of us who remember the Macs of old.

Products appear in the EEC database when they are weeks from release and this same database has outed other Apple products over the years — including this year’s Apple Watch Series 7 and last year’s iPhone 12.

Products that support encryption and are planned for sale in some European countries require registration in the database — the main reason Apple hardware is listed.

The new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro notebooks are expected to also come with new mini-LED screens for improved brightness and contrast, similar to those that made their debut on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro recently.
