Apple Enlists Extra mini-LED Supplier For Upcoming MacBook Pros Expecting Crazy Demand On Launch

Apple has long been rumored to have new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro notebooks in the works and we’ve heard more rumors of late that suggest a launch will take place before the end of the fall.

Now, a new report claims that Apple is expecting such a surge in orders that it has had to enlist the help of another mini-LED display supplier to be able to cope with demand.

That report comes courtesy of DigiTimes, which says that Luxshare Precision Industry has been added as a second supplier of surface mounting technology (SMT) for use in mini-LED displays.

Apple is expected to use the new mini-LED technology on both new MacBook Pros, allowing for improved colors, brightness, and contrast.

Taiwan Surface Mounting Technology (SMT) is currently the only provider of SMT services for Apple’s miniLED backlighting applications, but China-based Luxshare Precision Industry is expected to become a second provider in fourth-quarter 2021 …

Apple is now expected to announce the new notebooks within the next couple of months, making the end of 2021 a busy one for Apple. It already has new iPhones and Apple Watches to get out the door, while rumors of new iPads are also abound.
