Bloomberg: 14-Inch And 16-Inch mini-LED MacBook Pro To Launch Before Year End

Apple’s heavily-rumored MacBook Pro refresh will come between September and November, according to a new report. The notebooks will come in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes.

The new MacBook Pro machines have been rumored for months at this point, but Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman now believes that they will be announced before the end of the year — between September and November, to be specific.

Gurman made the claim in the recent issue of his Power On email newsletter, saying that “these new MacBooks were supposed to launch earlier, but complications around the new mini-LED display have held up production.”

That might explain the protracted launch we’ve experienced, with rumors having been around for longer than might normally be the case for something like this.

Apple’s new notebooks are expected to feature an all-new design with mini-LED technology taking care of the display. Apple silicon will also power the devices, while there is a rumored return of HDMI and other ports for professionals to look forward to.

A recent Ming-Chi Kuo research note suggested that Apple would have the new mini-LED machines go into mass production in the third quarter of 2021, perhaps matching the timescale shared by Gurman over the weekend.

It’s set to be a busy few months for Apple. The company is already expected to announce new iPhones, new iPads, and new Apple Watches within the next few months.
