Latest WhatsApp Update Makes It Easier To Delete Media And Reclaim Storage Space

If you find yourself constantly battling to save space on your phone you’re in for a good time today after a new WhatsApp update made it easier than ever to reclaim your space – by deleting media.

WhatsApp users have always been able to do this but the process for doing it hasn’t been the easiest thing in the world. But that’s all changing as of today’s update.

WhatsApp is releasing a new and improved way to manage storage on the app, helping users easily identify, select and bulk delete content that may be filling their phone.

WhatsApp now offers easy cleanup suggestions by bucketing both large files and media that has been forwarded many times, sorting files by size in descending order, and providing a way to preview files before deleting them. You can also see a preview of media before selecting one or multiple items to delete.

While the update is now live for some people, WhatsApp says that it is rolling out over the next week or so. That means you might have to wait a little while before it’s available to you specifically. Once it is, head to Settings > Storage and data > Manage storage to get started.

You can see more about the whole process in the video above, too.
