Kuo: 2023 15-Inch MacBook Will Get M2 And M2 Pro Chips

A new report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that Apple will launch a new 15-inch MacBook of some sort in the second quarter of 2023.

While Kuo didn’t explain what the name of this new machine would be, an earlier report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggests that a new 15-inch MacBook Air is in the works.

While Kuo had previously said that the new 15-inch product might not be branded as a MacBook Air, today’s report doesn’t include any additional details on that front.

The report does note that the machine will come with M2 and M2 Pro processor options, with the former shipping with a 35W charger and the latter coming with an uprated 67W part to ensure that it can deliver enough power when that M2 Pro is working at full load.

Kuo also mentioned the 12-inch MacBook that was previously reported on by Gurman, although he only mentioned that he hasn’t heard of any plans relating to the device. It’s still unclear how that machine will be badged as well, with rumors suggesting that it could carry the MacBook Pro name.

Apple recently announced a new 13-inch MacBook Air as well as the refreshed 13-inch MacBook Pro. Both machines use the new M2 chip, with the latter going on sale this Friday with devices expected to land in stores and at homes the following week. We still don’t know when the 13-inch MacBook Air will be offered for sale.
