Jailbreak iOS 15 On iPhone And iPad Status Update

Looking to jailbreak iOS 15 on your iPhone and iPad? Here’s the latest status update on what you need to know regarding iOS 15 jailbreak.

Now that Apple has released iOS 15 to the world and everyone is rushing to install it, there are probably a few people who are holding off. Those people are likely jailbreak fans and right now, the news isn’t great. It really isn’t great at all.

At the time of writing there is no jailbreak available for users of more recent iPhones, which is pretty disappointing for anyone looking to bag themselves a new iPhone 13!

But there’s some positive news for anyone carrying an older iPhone.

Because the popular checkra1n jailbreak is BootROM-based, it can’t be patched with software. That means that devices like iPhone X and below will always be jailbreakable, no matter how many different versions of iOS are released. If you’re still using an iPhone X or older, you’re good to go — update to iOS 15 at will and jailbreak, it won’t be an issue. You will have to wait for checkra1n update for iOS 15 to be released though for iPhone X and older devices, which should be soon.

Of course, iOS 15 could well be the last update for those devices, so keep that in mind when deciding whether it’s time to pick up a new iPhone.

On the other hand, there’s no telling whether hackers will be able to jailbreak newer iPhones running iOS 15 or later. That’s the cat and mouse game jailbreakers and Apple have been playing for years and it shows little sign of stopping just yet.
