iPhone 12 Will Not Feature 120Hz Display But iPhone 13 Will, No iPhone SE Till 2022, More

We might not have the iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro in our hands just yet, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look forward to next year. That’s something display analyst Ross Young has been doing, with information about the iPhone 13 abound.

According to Young, the iPhone 13 lineup will look similar to that of the iPhone 12, which means two iPhone 13 and two iPhone 13 Pro models. One of those, sized at 5.4 inches, is likely to be called iPhone mini, too.

Young says that all iPhone 13 models will feature an integrated touch technology with BOE Technology and LG Display providing some of the screens alongside Samsung Display.

More importantly, the iPhone 13 Pro models are expected to come with 120Hz ProMotion displays, something we’d been hoping would be part of the iPhone 12 Pro lineup. We’ve seen mixed reports about whether that will happen, but it does look increasingly likely that the feature will be a 2021 addition.

As for cameras, Young says we can expect the camera setups from the iPhone 12 Pro to make the move down to the iPhone 13 and iPhone mini next year, while the iPhone 13 Pro will get mmWave 5G connectivity, too.

As for the iPhone SE, Young says we shouldn’t expect it to get a refresh next year, with 2022 being the next update. That will bring a 6.1-inch LCD screen, Touch ID, and sub-6GHz 5G tech.
