iOS 14 To Bring With It A New Fitness App With Guided Workouts

The last couple of days have been big for iOS 14, iPadOS 14, and watchOS 7 leaks. And we still have three months before we expect Apple to announce them all. The latest leak relates to iOS 14, with MacRumors reporting that we can expect a new fitness app.

The app will actually be available for iPhone, Apple Watch, and Apple TV with users able to download guided fitness videos that will take them through the various stages of a particular workout.

MacRumors says that the app is currently codenamed “Seymour,” but it’s likely to be called Fit or Fitness when it is announced. It isn’t part of Apple’s current Activity app, so it’s going to be its own standalone app instead.

With the fitness app, users may be able to download fitness videos that cover a range of different workout options and activities, getting guidance on completing those activities on the Apple Watch. Apple provides a gallery of different workout routines that can be downloaded and synced to the Apple Watch, with the videos themselves shown on the iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV.

It’s expected that an Apple Watch will handle the tracking of progress, while an Apple TV would be used to display the workout video. If users don’t have an Apple TV, an iPhone or iPad would likely suffice.

It’s thought that this new app is going to be announced as part of the 2020 suite of software refreshes, but it’s always possible that Apple will delay it or even ditch it altogether. We’ll know more when WWDC rolls around in June.
