Watch Dogs App For iOS, Android Released; Lets You Play LIVE With Console And PC Gamers

Oliver Haslam·May 27, 2014
Watch Dogs was one of the games that everyone latched onto when the next generation of game consoles were announced, and with good reason - it looked awesome. Now that the game is upon us, Ubisoft has released a companion app for iOS and Android that aims to make gamers feel part of the universe, even if they don't actually own a copy of Watch Dogs.

iPhone 6 Release Date Potentially Revealed By German Carrier

Ben Reid·May 27, 2014
Even though Apple likes to remain tight-lipped in the run-up to any new product release, retailers, suppliers and carriers often - accidentally or otherwise - permit us to breach that veil of secrecy. The iPhone 6 - undoubtedly the most eagerly-anticipated product to be releasing out of Cupertino this year - is widely expected to be dropping in September of this year, and thanks to leaked info from a German carrier, we may now have a specific release date.

How To Get The Best Photos Out Of Your iPhone Videos

Ben Reid·May 27, 2014
The App Store is continually inundated with new photo and video-related apps for wannabe photographers and videographers to sink their teeth into, and although each and every one purports to greatly enhance the point-and-shoot credentials of the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, it's fair to say that you have to put in work to find the real gems. The app we're featuring today is somewhat unique in what it attempts to do, and by helping you find the perfect shot by scanning your short clips, will perceivably save you some time when trying to achieve the elusive Kodak Moment.

Test Drive iOS 8 Healthbook App Using This Interactive Demo On Your iPhone Right Now

Ben Reid·May 27, 2014
One of the more noteworthy announcements anticipated from next week's WWDC will be that of the Healthbook suite. With a UI based heavily on Passbook, it's set to serve as Apple's ticket into the lucrative health and fitness market, and to give us a better idea of how it may all pan out, one concept maker has come up with a rather beautiful video design and an interactive iOS 8 Healthbook mockup.

Apple To Debut ‘Smart Home’ Features For iPhone At WWDC Next Week

Ben Reid·May 26, 2014
The likes of Nest and Philips Hue bulbs have been integral to the advancement of the home automation scene, and now, it seems that Apple is taking a vested interest in this particular field. Apparently, we'll be hearing more about this move at WWDC 2014 next week, which will see new software features put in place to support these kinds of products.

This App Brings Popular Android App’s Visual Contacts And Dialer To iOS

Oliver Haslam·May 26, 2014
Apple's stock Contacts app on iOS may be functional, but it's not exactly the most interesting apps around. Sure, you can find who you need and then call, text or email them with the minimum of fuss, but it's not really as exciting to use as some of the other solutions out there. If you're someone who lives in the Contacts app, then it can get pretty boring, pretty quickly.

Apple Requests Retrial, Seeks Sales Ban And More Money From Samsung For Copying iPhone

Oliver Haslam·May 25, 2014
They say there's no rest for the wicked, and that's never been more true for Apple's lawyers after the Cupertino firm set about another attempt to put Samsung out of business in the United Stated while simultaneously taking the Korean company for as much as it can in the process.

ActiveBoard For iOS 7 Makes Home Screen App Icons Glow With Incoming Notifications And Running Apps

Ben Reid·May 25, 2014
Let's make no bones about it - the iOS app badge icons are fairly ugly. When they start to build up, they leave unsightly blemishes that distract the pleasant aesthetic tweaks that Apple made with iOS 7, and in all honesty, the Cupertino company really ought to have replaced them with something a tad more forward-thinking by now. A new tweak offers a quite sublime alternative to badges, replacing them with a simple, unassuming glow that tells you when a notification has arrived or when an app is running, and it's easily one of our favorite tweaks on iOS 7 so far.

How To Fix iOS 7 iMessage Delivery Bug

Ben Reid·May 24, 2014
As Apple recently acknowledged, iPhone users switching to Android or any other platform are running into a bug that sees messages continue to be sent using iOS’s proprietary iMessage protocol. As a consequence, messages are noted as “delivered” on iOS, but since only Apple’s own devices can read iMessages, never received. Given that the Cupertino company has already fixed what was possible on the server side of things, and now has promised a remedial iOS update, possibly in the form of iOS 7.1.2, to fix the issue completely, we shouldn’t have to wait too long for a full official fix, but in case you don’t want to potentially miss any important messages between now and then, we’ve put together a little guide detailing how you can restore immediate normality without waiting for Apple to patch it via software update.

New Official F1 Racing Game For iOS Released With Mario Kart Style Gameplay And Graphics

Ben Reid·May 24, 2014
Codemasters has many a Formula 1 game under its belt, and as a long time fan of both the company and the sport, I can vouch for the fact that most of them have been pretty darned awesome. But having churned out so many titles boasting cutting-edge graphics, realistic game play and very plausible simulation of the many great tracks across the world, the game maker has now come through with a spot of arcade fare in the image of SEGA All-Star Racing and Mario Kart. The animated experience is all about non-stop, unadulterated fun, and if you're a sucker for this kind of thing, then check the details after the break!
