Apple has today announced a raft of new devices, including the new iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max devices as well as new AirPods and Apple Watches. Many of the new announcements are available for preorder today.
All of Apple’s new products were unveiled during a streamed special event hosted by new Apple CEO John Ternus, his first time at the helm of the company.
As expected, Apple didn’t announce a new iPhone 18, but the rest of the lineup more than makes up for it.
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max build on the popular models that came before them, with both gaining performance and camera improvements. The new iPhones use Apple’s A20 Pro chip and support Siri AI, while a new variable aperture camera allows for improved photography and videography features.
The A20 Pro is built using TSMC’s 2nm manufacturing process and features 50% more memory bandwidth than the A19 Pro. It also has a new six-core CPU and seven-core GPU for improved performance, including when playing games. A new Dual 16-core Neural Engine ensures even better on-device AI performance.
In terms of cameras, the new iPhones feature a 48-megapixel Fusion camera with a variable aperture that allows for more control over how much light is captured. A redesigned Camera app adds new controls for this addition.
Both new iPhones are available in 256GB to 2TB storage configurations in burgundy, glacier, silver, and black. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 with the iPhone 18 Pro Max starting at $1,299. Preorders begin on September 12 with the devices going on sale on September 25.
Apple Watch Series 12
The new Apple Watch Series 12 features a new S11 chip, which allows for the new Siri AI functionality and health-sensing features.
The chip also allows the Apple Watch Series 12 to maintain up to 12 hours of battery life, while faster charging means a 15-minute charge will add 12 hours of battery life. The new model comes in multiple finishes.
Aluminum finishes include beautiful new dark bronze, black, and light gold options, plus the popular space gray finish. Titanium finishes include a rich new radiant gold color, alongside natural titanium.
A new ceramic finish is available in pearl white and night blue colors. Prices start at $399, with preorders beginning today. The new Apple Watch Series 12 ships on September 18.
Apple Watch Ultra 4
Apple has given the Apple Watch Ultra 4 the same new S11 chip and features as the Apple Watch Series 11, including improved heart rate sensing and more. The new model offers more than two days of battery life per charge, and up to 84 hours of battery life when in Low Power Mode. A 15-minute charge adds a whopping 18 hours of additional battery life.
The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is available in black and natural titanium finishes and starts at $799. It’s available for preorder today and will go on sale on September 18.
AirPods 5
Apple announced the AirPods 5, with two versions on offer, both with support for active noise-cancelling technology. Both models feature improved sound quality, hands-free support for Siri AI and Live Translation.
The standard AirPods 5 come with improved durability and sweat- and water-resistance, and cost $129. The upgraded model with a wireless charging case adds on-earbud volume control and longer battery life for $149. Both are available for preorder now and will go on sale this Friday.
