Apple Increases Prices Across iPhone 16, 17, And Air Lineups Amid iPhone 18 Pro And Duo Announcements

Apple today announced three new iPhones, but the company also quietly increased the price of its existing models while discontinuing the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

While the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max already cost more than their predecessors, Apple has now also increased the price of its older models by $100.

The move comes after Apple also increased the price of some Mac and iPad models previously, citing ongoing component shortages and price hikes.

MacRumors notes that the price increases apply to the iPhone 16, iPhone 17e, iPhone 17, and iPhone Air as of today. The move means that the older iPhones now cost

iPhone 16: $799 (a $100 increase)
iPhone 17e: $699 (a $100 increase)
iPhone 17: $899 (a $100 increase)
iPhone Air: $1099 (a $100 increase)

All four iPhones are still considerably cheaper than the iPhone Duo. Apple’s first foldable iPhone was announced today, with a starting price of $1,999 for the 256GB model. The price increases considerably if you need additional storage, as you might expect.

Apple also announced the new Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 during the same event, although their prices remain the same as their predecessors. The new AirPods 5 will sell starting from the same $129 price point, albeit with the addition of ANC on both models.
