I was trying to install all those tweaks and mods which I previously had on iPhone 3GS on to my iPhone 4 only to find out that some of the more important and popular apps were still not compatible with the Apple’s latest handset. Then I came around this list of iPhone and iOS 4.x jailbreak compatibility list which does a good job in keeping you up to date with what's working and what's not for your version of handset and OS.
Whoa! Apple has just opened up a new featured section in the App Store which is titled as “Try Before You Buy”. As the name suggests, this new section features all the lite and free version of popular apps in the App Store. If anything, Apple must have taken this initiative in a bid to fight against the ever growing number of pirated apps which are easily available on jailbroken iPhones, iPod touches and iPads.
The rumors of the iPod touch getting a camera soon are catching fire everyday. Different sources are convinced that the new iPod touch for sure will get this major refresh this fall. I was going through YouTube this morning when I came across this video showing a comparison between a Windows 7 based Slate PC and an Apple iPad. What was surprising for me was how in some places the Windows 7 based “Hanvon” Slate did better job than its iPad counterpart - Internet Explorer 8 was faster to load pages than Mobile Safari, the YouTube web app on Windows 7 was certainly loading videos much faster than the native YouTube app on iPad and so on.
As promised, the iPhone Dev-Team has released the carrier unlocking tool called Ultrasn0w for US based iPhone 4 users who are stuck with AT&T network. For those of you who don’t know, carrier unlock for US iPhone 4s required complete rewrite of ultrasn0w software because of the new baseband OS present in iPhone 4.
The newly released jailbreak tool named JailbreakMe 2.0 Star makes use of a PDF vulnerability which is present in iOS’ Mobile Safari browser. Now that JailbreakMe has been released, and that the exploit is public, hackers can make use of this exploit by making you download a PDF file in Safari, in the process installing some malicious code to ultimately take control of your iOS device.
