Apple Can Swap Out The Studio Display’s Stand After Purchase

Apple’s new 27-inch Studio Display is now available to buy and while it comes with a tiltable stand built in, Apple also offers the chance to buy a height-adjustable stand or VESA mount to those who need it.

However, the company tells people that they must buy the correct stand at the point of purchase because it can’t be swapped out afterward. That, however, doesn’t seem to be the case.

MacRumors now reports that Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers can also swap the stand out after purchase, if required. No information is available on how much that will cost or how long it will take – or even if the parts are kept in stock – but it doesn’t appear to matter which stand or mount is installed originally. Any combination works.

For example, if a customer bought a Studio Display with the standard tilt-adjustable stand and later decides they want to use a VESA mount adapter, they can book a service appointment with an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider and have one installed, according to internal documentation obtained by MacRumors.

Likewise, if a customer bought a Studio Display with a tilt-adjustable stand and later decides they want both a tilt- and height-adjustable stand, an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider can accommodate this request. Pricing will vary based on the region, the type of stand or mount being installed, and the cost of labor.

Apple sells the Studio Display with the tiltable stand included for $1,599 but the other options are available for those willing to pay extra. The VESA mount seems to be the most flexibile, however, allowing people to ensure they have their display in just the right spot.
