The Apple Studio Display Packs 64GB Of Inbuilt Storage

Apple’s new Studio Display, a 27-inch monitor, comes with 64GB of storage built in. That’s the same amount of storage as the base model iPhone 11, iPad Air, and standard iPad.

While the Studio Display only appears to make use of a small portion of that storage, the fact that it has so much of it could open the door to future features and updates that we don’t yet know about.

The monitor uses an A13 Bionic chip just like the current iPad and that allows it to do things like Center Stage, allowing the webcam to focus on whoever is in the frame.

But it could also mean that the 64GB of storage will be used for future software updates like the one that is already being worked on as a way to fix current webcam quality issues.

The reason for such a large chunk of storage isn’t known for sure, but it seems likely that it is a simple case of Apple’s A13 chip shipping with 64GB of storage as standard, as it does on other devices. That will of course give Apple headroom in terms of storage and updates later down the line, too.

Apple’s new Studio Display is now on sale with prices starting at $1599 depending on the configuration required.
