Apple Announces October 18 ‘Unleashed’ Event – Likely To Announce New MacBook Pros And More

Apple has just confirmed that it will hold a virtual event on October 18, giving us less than a week to get excited.

While Apple hasn’t confirmed what the new event will entail, the smart money right now is on a new MacBook Pro or two, while refreshed AirPods and even a new Mac mini could be in the works, too.

Starting with those new MacBook Pros, rumors have the machines coming with new mini-LED screens in 14-inch and 16-inch configurations. The return of MagSafe has also been suggested, while rumors of the death of the Touch Bar are unlikely to be premature. Pro users should be happy to learn that HDMI ports and SD card slots are also said to be in the offing, too.

In terms of AirPods, rumors of an AirPods Pro-like redesign have been rife for months. While the new earbuds won’t have the same features as AirPods Pro, it does seem increasingly likely that we can look forward to a new design when they are inevitably released.

The whole announcement event will be streamed online and we can expect it to be available on apple.com, in the Apple TV app, and on YouTube.

It’s unlikely that Apple would hold an event for two new MacBook Pro notebooks, so it’s fair to expect more from next week’s event. We won’t know for sure what will be announced until the whole thing kicks off, however.
