Apple faces yet more coronavirus disruption after it was confirmed that the filming of the second season of The Morning Show has been halted over virus concerns.
According to a Deadline report, the decision to stop filming was made by the studio working on it, Media Res. The company’s CEO, Michael Ellenberg, told Deadline that Apple was on board with the decision.
In concert with our dedicated partners at Apple, we have concluded it would be prudent to take a two-week hiatus to assess the situation and ensure the safety of the incredible people who make this show.
This isn’t the first issue that Apple has had to deal with because of the virus. Its iPhone manufacturing partners have had to close factories, and Apple Stores in China were also closed for a considerable time. Italian Apple Stores are also closed right now – all 17 of them – with no indication as to when we can expect them to re-open.
It’s also rumored that Apple has canceled a planned media event this month. The iPhone 9 was expected to be announced, but it’s now thought that the release will be postponed until a better time. We don’t know when that will be, but it’s possible Apple will now hold the phone back until considerably later in the year.
Apple also recently took the step of telling its Apple Park and international office workers to work from home in order to prevent spreading coronavirus further.
