Jennifer Aniston Picks Up A SAG Award For Her Role In The Morning Show

Jennifer has picked up a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) award for the best female actor in a drama series thanks to her work on The Morning Show. She plays Alex Levy, one of the main characters in the Apple TV+ show.

The competition was fierce with Olivia Colman (The Crown), Helena Bonham Carter (The Crown), Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), and Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale) all up for the gong.

During her acceptance speech, the actor thanked “The Morning Show” head writer Kerry Ehrin and then went on to mention others who work on the show as quoted by 9to5Mac.

I just have to say I’m so grateful, first of all, Kerry Ehrin our extraordinary head writer, who created these, not just one, but so many characters that are so layered and complicated and messy and ugly and just beautifully human.

And boy, did we get to dive deep into our own experiences and our own history and really be able to breathe life into these extraordinary characters.

I mean, who knew that emotional breakdowns felt that good. It was literally, like, you know, seven months of therapy covered about 20 years of work. So thank you for watching that.

And just every actor in this room, Mimi Leder, our fearless leader, Michael Ellenberg. Reese Witherspoon [who is] my partner in crime. I love, girl. It took 20 years, but we did it, finally.

And my producing partner Kristin Hahn, Amanda Anka, Kristin, top of the hill. Laura Canon, dreams do come true.

This is the first major award for Apple TV+, with actor Billy Crudup having also picked up a Critics Choice Award for his role on the same show earlier this month.
