5G iPhone SE Plus Coming 2022, According To New Reports

Apple will introduce a new, 5G-capable iPhone SE Plus device next year, according to a new report by display analyst Ross Young.

According to Young, the next iPhone SE will sport the same 4.7-inch screen that we’re accustomed to while a larger 5.7-inch to 6.1-inch device will make its debut in 2024.

We’ve heard the iPhone SE Plus name before after analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that it would sport a larger display. That now appears not to be the case, with Apple instead preferring to stick with the tried and tested 4.7-inch LCD panel.

Instead, it seems the Plus name will apply to the faster 5G connectivity rather than a growing display as has previously been the case.

There does still appear to be a larger iPhone SE in the works, however. Young says that a 5.7-inch to 6.1-inch LCD display will be used by a new iPhone Se device in 2024, with the iPhone SE3 name given to the handset by the display analyst.

More iPhone SE rumors recently suggested that we could see a new iPhone SE with iPhone XR-like looks but with Touch ID built into the Side button in lieu of Face ID. That doesn’t match with other rumors we’ve seen and now seems more unlikely than ever.
