The Apple Watch Series 7 Is The Same Thickness As Apple Watch Series 6

Apple’s brand new Apple Watch Series 7 is now available for pre-order and with more information now available about the new hardware, we’re learning all kinds of things.

For example, did you know that the new Apple Watch Series 7 is the same thickness as the Apple Watch Series 6?

You do now!

The reason that’s notable is that before the launch there were rumors that the Apple Watch Series 7 would be “slightly thicker overall.” That came via Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman on the back of the news that the display itself would be thinner than previous models.

However, now that we have the full details it’s clear that Apple Watch Series 7 is exactly the same thickness as the previous model — 10.7mm, to be precise.

One of the other numbers have changed slightly, however, just as we expected. As part of the larger case design the two new models are indeed 1mm taller, although the width remains the same. That means that the Apple Watch Series 7’s 45mm and 41mm numbers are indeed accurate. So make of that what you will.

The new watch is available for pre-order right now, but those who were slow off the mark will likely be waiting a matter of weeks before they can get their hands on their new watch. Delivery estimates are already into November.
