I just stumbled upon these images of what look like the back-casing of the 4th generation iPhone and thought I should share it with you all. The text on the all aluminum unibody back reads the traditional line: “Designed by Apple in California. Assembled in China”.
Apple has been busy lately in safe-guarding the design and innovation of its products by taking legal cover of patent grant policy. Last month, we saw how Apple filed a legal suit against HTC, for its alleged involvement in infringing 20 iPhone OS patents "related to the iPhone's user interface, underlying architecture, and hardware”.
Scheduled dates for Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) for the year 2010 through 2015 has been revealed on a convention calendar (PDF) hosted on a Japanese site for the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau. The list, which was last updated on May 2009 includes incorrect dates for Macworld 2011, but listings for many other future events appear to be accurate. The dates for WWDC as mentioned in the list are as under.
Yet another iPhone 3GS ad has just been aired by Apple. As usual, they have nailed it well, showing off what the iPhone is better at doing than any of its competitors.
Previously, we gave you an in-depth step by step tutorial on how to turn your iPod touch into an iPhone, and then later how to turn your iPhone into an iPad (or iPad Nano). We saw a video a few days back in which Geohot performed an untethered jailbreak for iPhone 3.1.3. This will most probably also work on the iPhone 3.2 firmware for iPad. In the meanwhile, another iPhone hacker by the name of comex released another video, which showed off untethered userland (browser based) jailbreak for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. This new userland jailbreak of iPhone 3.1.3 by comex has now been given a name – say hello to “Spirit”, an untethered userland jailbreak for iPhone.
Geohot showed us a video demo of untethered jailbreak for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad during the same time period when the iPhone’s SMS database was hacked by two amazing geniuses at Pwn2Own hacking contest. The hack really spread hope in masses that we can use the same technique back from iPhone OS 1.x days to jailbreak our iPhone/iPod touch and iPad.
John Gruber of Daring Fireball has added his thoughts on the “Verizon iPhone” report which was published by WSJ earlier today. According to him, the next-generation iPhone will feature an iPad like 940 x 640 resolution display, an A4 CPU chip (again like iPad) and a front facing camera for video conferencing. He also confirmed multitasking in the upcoming iPhone OS 4.0. This is what he had to say about Wall Street Journal’s report.
In year 2008 and 2009, when most of the companies in the world were passing through a state of recession and financial crisis, there were some who went on the offensive and scored big. So this week when Barron released its annual list of the best CEOs in the world, Steve Jobs of Apple returned to the list from last year, joining Jeffrey Bezos of Amazon.com, Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway and Mark Hurd of Hewlett-Packard. When Barron drew up its annual list of the 30 most respected CEOs, it sought to identify executives who kept their companies out of trouble and took advantage of the downturn to expand, make shrewd acquisitions, feast on the problems of competitors, and sailed their respective companies smoothly to high laurels.
