How To Record 1080p Video At 60fps On iPhone 6 / iPhone 6 Plus

Ben Reid·September 24, 2014
Apple regularly bolsters the point-and-shoot credentials of its newest handsets, but with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, there appears to have been a special emphasis on improving the rear-facing camera in both a photo-taking and video-capturing capacity. From Focus Pixels to optical image stabilization, both devices appear to squeeze every drop of performance out of their 8-megapixel sensor, and if you're a bit of a videographer, you'll surely be enthused by the new option to shoot 1080p footage at 60fps. If you've heard about the feature but not sure how to get started with it, we've got a little guide right after the break.

Users Complaining Of iPhone 6 Plus Devices Bending In Their Pockets [Photos]

Ben Reid·September 24, 2014
The iPhone 6 Plus, the larger of Apple's two new handsets, is the ideal choice for folks who've long since been attracted to devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note but prefer iOS, and among the 10 million iPhones sold over the launch weekend, a sizeable portion would have been made specifically by those picking up the Cupertino's first phablet. But while most of those who went out and made the purchase are reporting positively of their latest acquisition, some have inadvertently managed to bend their device out of shape merely by leaving it in a pocket when performing an activity.

Apple Airs Two New iPhone 6 TV Ads Starring Jimmy Fallon And Justin Timberlake [Video]

As well as introducing the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus, Apple Pay, and the Apple Watch during the September 9th media event at The Flint Center, Apple also teased a couple of new advertisements focusing on the iPhone 6. The recently released sales figures for the latest and greatest iPhone suggest that it doesn't really need an overly complex advertising campaign to convince the public to embrace it, but hey, a little bit of celebrity endorsement never hurts, right? Following on from the event, Apple has released the first two of what we expect will be a number of iPhone 6 dedicated ads, titled "Huge" and "Cameras".

World’s First 24-Karat iPhone 6 Could Be Yours For Just $50,000

While we mere mortals were lining up outside Apple Stores around the world, a select group of people were waiting for their own, rather special iPhone 6 handsets to find their way to them. They also cost quite a bit more than those we were looking to pick up.

Tip: Here’s How To Speed Up Your iPhone 6 And iPhone 6 Plus Charging Time

Ben Reid·September 23, 2014
Whatever your opinion may be of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, there's little argument that Apple has made some significant changes (read: improvements) over the preceding models, and alongside the 2010 roll-out of the iPhone 4, the two new handsets must be considered the biggest upgrades to iPhone since the original. But as the tech community lauds the enlarged display, NFC, new design, bumped camera technology and iOS 8, among a myriad of other enhancements, one element that long-time users really wanted to see improved was the battery life. The iPhone has long since been bashed for its relatively poor battery retention, but thanks to increased capacity and software enhancements, those days may well be behind us, and now, it has emerged that charging may also be quicker as well.

iPhone 6 Plus Has The ‘Best Performing Smartphone LCD Display,’ Says Expert

Ben Reid·September 23, 2014
When Apple unleashed the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus a couple of weeks ago, the usual executive announcers waxed poetic about the new display of each. As ever, an improved display wouldn't be complete without its own buzzword or tagline, and 'Retina HD' was deemed suitable to the company's marketing campaign. But with the release having just occurred across nine nations, a sizeable portion of the consumer market - as well as commentators, resellers, and others within the mobile industry - have had the opportunity to check the devices out for themselves. One renowned display specialist has quickly waded into the debate by declaring the iPhone 6 Plus's display as "the best performing smartphone LCD display that we have ever tested," and below, you can find out precisely why such a bold assessment was made.

The iPhone 6 and the jumbo-sized iPhone 6 Plus have clearly captured the imagination of new and existing iOS users around the world with Apple recording more than four million pre-orders taken in the first 24-hours of availability and 10 million units sold in 3 days alone. Add that together with the fact that the majority of models are sold out in most locations and you have yet another successful product launch for the Cupertino company. You would imagine that the initial excitement would focus on the new functionality of the hardware, or the new features of iOS 8, but it appears you would imagine wrong. Thanks to the RatedRR YouTube channel, the interest seems to lie in attempting to torture and destroy the hardware through various acts, such as this latest destruction video recorded at a staggering 35,000 frames-per-second.
