iPad mini 2 Almost As Powerful As iPad Air & iPhone 5s, 5x More Than Original mini

Ben Reid·November 13, 2013
Whenever a new device is released to market, the benchmark tests begin almost instantaneously. Today, the iPad mini with Retina display made its long-awaited debut, and although it still appears in very short supply, it has already been put through its paces and compared with some of the other marquee devices in the iOS product line. As it transpires, it's almost identical to the iPhone 5s in terms of speed, although both the iPad mini 2 with Retina display and the Touch ID-enabled handset fall slightly behind the iPad Air, which is faster than both.

iPad mini 2 With Retina Display – Unboxing And Overview [VIDEO]

Tom Richardson·November 13, 2013
In what can only be considered one of the most bizarre Apple product launches of this year, the Cupertino company has officially released their newest miniature tablet: the iPad mini 2 with Retina Display for everyone to consume. If you're unaware, the new iPad was announced alongside it's bigger brother, the iPad Air. This is where the launch similarities end though, as Apple were particularly coy about when, or where, it was going to be available. In a sudden frenzy - as opposed to their standard organized launches - Apple let loose that the iPad mini with Retina Display could be reserved for pickup in store, or purchased directly though Apple's online store.

First-Gen iPad mini Now Available In Space Gray

Aatif·October 25, 2013
The iPad Air and Retina iPad mini 2 are making rounds of the Internet these days, but that doesn’t mean the older generation devices are to be forgotten just yet. We already saw a price cut for the first-gen iPad mini alongside the announcement for newer devices, but now it appears the Cupertino company has also (silently, I must add) dropped a Space Gray version of the original iPad mini, through its select retail stores and its online store as well.

First-Gen iPad mini Sees Price Drop, iPad 2 Will Still Be Available For Purchase From Apple

Aatif·October 23, 2013
Apple’s newest hardware is here for a lot of device lineups, including the iPad, which has seen the launch of the new iPad Air and the second gen iPad mini with Retina display. The new devices are all shiny and cool, boasting the latest in hardware and software both, but that doesn’t mean we can forget the old ones just yet. Although the iPad 2 and iPad mini are rather old now, they’re still continuing, albeit at a lower cost for the first-gen iPad mini. The iPad 2 will continue to sell for a price of $399, while the first-gen iPad mini will continue to retail at a new starting price point of $299.

Apple iPad mini 2 With Retina Display Announced: Everything You Need To Know

Ben Reid·October 23, 2013
Some doubted whether Apple would indeed come through with the iPad mini 2 this year, but thanks to today's official announcement at the special press event, we now know this to be true. As well as packing a wonderfully-crisp Retina panel, the smaller of the two Apple slates also includes quite a few features we're more than familiar with, including the A7 processor of the iPhone 5s!

Apple Testing New iPad mini With A6 Processor, No Retina Display

Paul Morris·August 1, 2013
We should all know by now that when it comes to pre-release versions of iOS there is generally no stone left unturned by those investigative minds that love nothing more than ripping through the internals to see what they can find. The latest iOS 7 beta SDK release is no different, and this time it seems that a keen-eyed developer has cottoned on to Apple testing out an enhanced iPad mini, evidence of which is located deep inside of a hidden file within the SDK.

Logitech Announces Ultrathin Keyboard Cover For iPad mini, Pre-orders Starting Today [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·February 5, 2013
The iPad leads a fleet of tablet devices in the market, and although each vendor seems to have a different idea of what exactly a tablet should or should not entail, all seem in agree-ance of the fact that tablets are 'post-PC' devices. The market is certainly beginning to grow used to the lack of a physical keyboard -- a prominent feature of the PC arrangement - but traditionalists still much prefer the feeling of tapping on keys, and as such, the keyboard as we have always known it is still in wide circulation. Most of the market's most popular slabs have some ultra-thin variation of keyboard cover, and joining the handful of options already available for owners of Apple's iPad mini, Logitech has just announced its own svelte, $79 offering called 'Ultrathin', with pre-orders starting now.

New Apple iPad mini TV Commercial For Christmas Highlights Festive Cheer Over FaceTime [VIDEO]

Paul Morris·December 22, 2012
I think we all understand the emotive human desire to spend the holiday season with our loved ones and the people that are closest to us but unfortunately it isn't always possible to share the festive season in person with those who matter most. Apple's latest iPad and iPad mini TV ad that has just surfaced today shows that the company not only understands that we can't always connect in person with the important people but that the 9.7 and 7.9-inch tablets make great digital companions that can act as a gateway to the people we love through the FaceTime protocols.
