Mac4ever has posted rumors in a post today where they say that FaceTime, a video chatting service for iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G, will soon be coming to iChat which is an IM application that comes with OS X. They also say that iLife 11 (without iDVD) is coming soon.
Announced just today, and picked up first by Gizmodo, Apple will be relaxing all restrictions on the development tools used to create iOS apps. Also in a very surprising move, the company at One Infinite Loop, CA has also published App Store Review Guidelines for developers.
Revealed unto the world recently at Apple’s Music Event (1st September), the new 4th-gen iPod touch has now been released! The folks over at Engadget were the first ones to review it and us here at RP jumped into it and snuck out a few interesting pieces from the review.
As it stands today, our smartphones do just about everything we would want from a computer. They browse the internetz, take stunning images, send/receive emails, show us high-def videos, give us turn-by-frickin-turn voice-guided visual directions, check today’s special sex position (cause there’s an app for that!) and tons more shit that, if I start recalling, would take an eternity or two or document.
Remember the iWatch concept images that we posted a few months back? While it was just a concept back then, you now have a change to bring it to real life by using the new iPod nano 6G which was only recently announced at Apple’s “Special Media Event” last week.
iPod touch 4G was announced only a few days back at Apple’s annual “Special Media Event” in San Francisco. Even though the new “touch” has got two cameras: one on the back for HD video recording and one on the front for FaceTime calls, 960 x 640 Retina Display and all, but the fact that the camera on the back can only take still shots at 0.7 megapixels was met with disappointment by many.
Earlier this week, Apple announced the much awaited iOS 4.2 update for the iPad. It brings tons of new features to iPad like Multitasking, Folders, Printing, AirPlay, Game Center and more. This update will surely make the iPad a perfect tablet for doing tons of things quickly and efficiently than ever before.
Back when iOS 4 was released, it had all sorts of performance issues when it ran on older devices such as iPhone 3G. Last month, Jobs confirmed that a new software update will fix some performance woes of iPhone 3G running iOS 4.x. Final GM Build of iOS 4.1 (developers only) was released this week for iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G and iPod touch and Lifehacker has a video up for us, comparing both iOS 4.0 and iOS 4.1 running on iPhone 3G. The difference is quite noticeable in some cases as can be seen in the video embedded below.
Apple has completely redesigned both the iPod nano and iPod shuffle for their fall 2010 iPod lineup. iPod nano gains multi-touch functionality, new lighter and smaller square’ish design, and at the same time loses video camera which was only introduced last year. iPod shuffle on the other hand has got all the buttons back, with a new large battery which gives up to 15 hours.
Apple has just announced the all new Apple TV. This new 2010 version of Apple TV is only one fourth the size of the original, and it comes in black matte finish. It supports HDMI output, 802.11 WiFi-N and optical audio. There is no local storage here, Apple TV completely depends on the cloud for streaming media content. Apart from iTunes, you will be able to access Netflix, YouTube, Flickr and MobileMe services right from the comfort of your couch.
