Rumored Upcoming MacBook Air To Come In 13.6-Inch And 15.2-Inch Sizes But Without Mini-LED Panels

Apple is now rumored to have a 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air in mind but neither of them will come with the benefit of mini-LED technology, according to a new report.

Writing via Twitter, DSCC analyst Ross Young said that the 2022 MacBook Air will come with a 13.6-inch display, marking a 0.3-inch increase over the current model.

With the device now expected to get a complete redesign compared to previous MacBook Air notebooks, it now seems likely that the screen will crow as part of the switch to a notch-like design similar to that of the most recent MacBook Pro notebooks.

As for the 15-inch MacBook Air that is now being rumored, Young now believes that it will have a 15.2-inch display size  However, Young told MacRumors that neither of the new machines will use Mini-LED technology this time around.

Young told MacRumors that neither of the new ‌MacBook Air‌ models will feature a mini-LED display or ProMotion technology. This seems to run against multiple claims from DigiTimes which said that the ‌MacBook Air‌ will get a mini-LED display in 2022, but Young maintains that the two new ‌MacBook Air‌ models will have LCD displays to maintain a lower price points compared to the high-end MacBook Pros.

Ross Young has proven to be accurate in terms of predicting what displays will be released, although it isn’t always easy to know what devices those displays will fit into. In this case it’s also possible that the 15-inch MacBook Air won’t actually use that moniker, at least according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
