Apple Could Release A 15-Inch MacBook Air Next Year According To A Report

While there has been a lot of talk about whether Apple will release a new M2-powered MacBook Air as soon as this year, attentions are already turning to what we can expect from an even more exciting prospect — a new 15-inch MacBook Air.

Apple had previously considered a 15-inch MacBook Air years ago but ultimately decided against it.

That could all change however, with Display Supply Chain Consultants releasing a new report that suggests a larger device is in the offing. In the report, seen by 9to5Mac, even the current 13-inch MacBook Air will see a larger display sooner rather than later, with a new 15-inch model sitting atop it.

According to DSCC supply chain information, Apple is planning a new variant of the MacBook Air for 2023 that will feature a screen size of around 15-inches. The company is also reportedly planning to increase the display of the current 13.3-inch MacBook Air to something that is “slightly larger” but still between 13-inches and 14-inches.

The report also suggests that the next iPad will also see a slight increase in screen size from the current 10.2-inch model, although few details were shared about what that could mean in terms of timescale and actual screen configuration.

The move to add a new 15-inch version of the MacBook Air to the lineup could further confuse Apple’s notebook strategy. Apple once decided against a 15-inch version of the machine so it will be interesting to see if it has indeed had a change of heart.
