Apple Working On A Thinner MacBook For Release In Late 2014 / Early 2015

Ben Reid·August 27, 2014
A new report suggests that Apple is planning to add to its MacBook line-up in the near future, although doesn't offer specifics on when said notebook will actually release. Apparently, the thinner MacBook Air, which may also be Retina-fied, may emerge either late this year or early next, and given how svelte the current model already is, it'll be interesting to see if and how Apple manages to shave anything off.

Nexus 6 / X To Come With Monster Specs, According To Leaked Benchmarks

Ben Reid·August 27, 2014
Google makes a habit of coinciding major new versions of Android with a new smartphone release, and with Android L having already been unleashed at I/O earlier on this year, we're now waiting on the successor to the Nexus 5. Although widely presumed to be called the Nexus 6, for rather obvious reasons, it now looks as though the next-gen handset will be called the Nexus X as Google tries to avoid any copyright issues, but despite the name-change, the actual device still looks set to impress us with some beastly specs. Today, we've gotten wind of some new details, as well as some more leaked info pertaining to Android L, and below, you can get up to speed.

Ben Reid·August 27, 2014

Instagram’s Hyperlapse App For iOS Lets You Shoot Pro Quality Time-Lapse Videos

Ben Reid·August 27, 2014
Instagram may now be owned by Facebook, but the purchase hasn't stopped the team behind the famed photo-sharing app from developing a series of spin-off utilities. As well as the recent release of the Snapchat-like Bolt, which launched late last month across a few select markets, the Instagram development team has now come through with Hyperlapse, a time-lapse app designed specifically for those in ownership of the Apple iPhone and iPad. Check out the screenshots, details and download link after the break.

Ad-Supported Free Spotify Streaming Now Available On Windows Phone

Ben Reid·August 26, 2014
When it comes to apps - even the big ones - it's fair to say that Microsoft's Windows Phone platform often gets left behind. It took an age for Instagram, for instance, to make its way over to the WP Store, and even when apps do finally manifest themselves, updates can be few and far between. Spotify is another prime example, and although an official app has been around for a while now, the ability to shuffle songs for free with ads has not. Now, though WP users can listen for free thanks to a new update, and if you don't mind the occasional advertisement, it's a great way to enjoy free music.

Ben Reid·August 26, 2014
Although it mightn't get as much attention as its compatriot, LG continues to churn out high-quality, feature rich smartphones that more than stand up against those of Samsung. The LG G3, for example, is every bit as beastly as the Galaxy S5, and with Sammy preparing to unleash the Galaxy Note 4 at a special Unpacked event in Berlin, LG has just taken the wraps off the G3 Stylus.
