New Report Claims Apple Is In For A Bumper 2022 With New iPad Pro, Mac Pro, More

Apple looks set to have a big 2022 with a whole host of new products that are going to be released, according to a new report. Those products include a new iMac, a Mac Pro, and more.

According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, writing in his weekly Power On newsletter, Apple has various products in the pipeline for a 2022 arrival.

Part of the lineup includes a new iPad Pro that will feature wireless charging, potentially capable of reverse charging another device like an iPhone or AirPods. A new iPad Air and refreshed iPad are also thought to be coming before the end of next year, too.

In terms of Macs, an Apple silicon Mac Pro is coming, something that is more than exciting considering how performant Apple’s chips have been when confined to small notebooks or thin iMacs. The idea of Apple silicon running inside a big chassis is exciting because the additional cooling and space could allow for faster chips than the recently-released M1 Max.

Continuing the Mac lineup, a new entry-level MacBook Pro is set to be joined by a full MacBook Air refresh that includes the new M2 chip as well as a redesign of the overall chassis. We could expect a MacBook Pro-like notch here, too.

A new Mac mini and a larger iMac are also thought to be coming, joined by the usual array of new iPhone and new Apple Watches. Notably, Gurman also believes that the Apple Watch SE will be refreshed, while the rumored ruggedized Apple Watch gets another mention, too.

Beyond that, the heavily-rumored mixed reality headset is another potential release that many will have their eyes trained on.
