Moment is a company that most people will associate with some of the best iPhone lenses around. There’s also the Moment Pro Camera app that has been around a while. But now there’s another app to add to the collection, and it focuses on video.
RTRO is a simple app in terms of interface, but it’s great at adding retro-like filters to your video. Moment says that each of its filters has “a historical reference in mind and brought forward to a more modern style.” And who are we to argue?
The app was officially announced via press release today, with Moment saying that RTRO “makes video fun again.”
This app makes video fun again with retro looks made by filmmakers, a 60 second timeline and click to share simplicity to Instagram stories or TikTok. Different from all the existing vintage apps we made RTRO simpler, easier to use, and limited to this season’s looks.
The RTRO app itself is a free download and with that, you’ll get three vintage filters to enjoy. But there’s a premium option that costs $1.99 per month. Cough up and you’ll get RTRO+, complete with all filters, real-time subject tracking, and more. You can also ditch the watermark once you’ve handed over some cash.
Video was meant to be short and this app is intuitive to record, pause, and record again. Plus, we included advanced features with real-time subject tracking, retro frame rates, and the ability to remove the water mark.
If you’re someone who lives to share videos and wants something a little different to the usual collection of Instagram filters, this is definitely worth checking out. And at $1.99 per month, RTRO+ seems well worth the money, too.
