LG Announces New 8K TVs With HomeKit, AirPlay 2 Support, New AI-Based CPU, More

CES is just around the corner which means we’re starting to see some big announcements, including LG’s new 2020 8K TV lineup.

It’s made up of eight new TVs and sizes go from 65-inches all the way up to 88-inches. Which is probably the kind of size you’ll need if you want to take advantage of 8K.

All of the new TVs will support Apple’s HomeKit and AirPlay 2 functionality, which is a big deal. That will allow them to work with Siri, bringing voice commands and support for the Home app to all of the TVs. That also opens up a world of home automation options, too.

LG says that all of its 2020 8K TVs will include a new processor that will use deep learning to help make sure the image and sound are as great as can be.

That apparently means the screen will detect when a face is on-screen and then make sure it’s displayed with the correct skin tone. Text will also be detected, too.

LG will be taking the wraps off of all its new TVs next week when the 2020 Consumer Electronics Show kicks off. It’s sure to be as mental and fantastic as ever, so we’ll be keeping our eyes out for all the hottest new announcements as the week progresses.
