iPhone 13 Vs Pro Vs 13 Pro Max Vs 13 mini [Specs Comparison]

After months of rumors it’s finally happened — Apple has taken the wraps off the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. But how do the new handsets compare with the old ones, and even more importantly, with one another.

In terms of looks, things haven’t changed all that much. Some rumors had suggested Apple might go with the iPhone 12s designation here and it’s easy to see why that could have happened.

That isn’t to say that there aren’t points to note here, though. On the insides, these new iPhones have a lot to offer.

That starts with the new Apple-designed A15 Bionic processor, a chip that is faster and more capable than any iPhone chip that came before it. It’ll be better for gaming and handling work tasks while also saving battery life thanks to improved efficiency.

There’s still no Touch ID here, but Face ID continues to be present. The notch is smaller than ever, setting the scene for it going away completely next year if iPhone 14 rumors are true.

In terms of the screen, a new 120Hz ProMotion display is offered on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max devices. That allows for a variable refresh rate of 10-120Hz when required, but gives the iPhone the chance to throttle that down when it isn’t in order to save power.

Cameras have improved, as you would expect. Sensors have improved a lot, with a faster ultra-wide sensors, ad well as macro mode of up to 2cm on the Pro models. Night mode is also present on all three lenses as well. The higher end models also support Apple ProRes video recording, so you might want to look at getting an iPhone with a ton of storage. This is the first year where a 1TB iPhone has been offered, while no 64GB version is available. All iPhones start with a minimum of 128GB of storage from here.

Cinematic video recording is a new on the iPhones and promises to deliver cinema-like shots thanks to AI computing the autofocus for a dramatic effect. There’s much more in play here obviously, but we’ll know soon enough.

The iPhone 13 also pulls significantly ahead in terms of battery life. “iPhone 13 Pro will last up to one and a half hours longer in a day than iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max will last up to two and a half hours longer in a day than iPhone 12 Pro Max.”

Ultimately, which iPhone is best for you will depend on price and requirements. You can check all of those out on the embedded chart before splashing your hard-earned cash on the latest big iPhone update.
